Running of the Wieners

Wiener Dogs pose The annual Running of the Wieners race, sponsored by John Morrell, will once again help get Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati off to a running start. This doggie derby has become a fan favorite.

HOW IT WORKS
Each dog, outfitted in their provided hot dog bun costume, will run approximately 75 feet in heats of ten to their owners at the opposite end. The winner of each heat will compete in a final race to determine the winning wiener dog! Prizes, donated by Findlay Market vendor Pet Wants, will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners! RACE DETAILS
Friday, Noon - 1 p.m.
Fountain Square

Check-in: 10 - 11:30 a.m.
Heat 1 start: Noon

Cost: TBD (includes all race competition gear including hot dog bun costume and owner t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to a local animal charity).

Invite your friends and family to watch the races too! German food, music and ice cold beer will be available on Fountain Square during Running of the Wieners and will remain open until midnight for a behind-the-scenes "sneak peek" of the Oktoberfest setup.
